Map out trip routes that minimize empty miles ("deadhead") and avoid toll roads where possible.
Perform daily check-calls with drivers and update customers/brokers on the truck's ETA.
Book strict pickup and delivery times with warehouses and terminals (e.g., Capstone, Americold).
Coordinate roadside assistance for breakdowns, tire blowouts, or accidents.
Collect and verify Proof of Delivery (POD) and Bills of Lading (BOL) immediately after delivery for billing.
Track driver wait time at shippers/receivers and request detention pay if loading exceeds 2 hours.
Verify truck gross weight stays under 80,000 lbs and route drivers to CAT scales if necessary.
Secure return loads immediately after delivery to ensure the truck does not return empty.
