Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end movement of cargo, including booking space with ocean carriers and coordinating inland transportation (truck/rail).
Ensure the accurate creation and release of House Bills of Lading (HBL) for clients and manage Master Bills of Lading (MBL) with carriers.
Supervise the timely filing of manifests (AMS, ISF, ENS, etc.) to meet customs and regulatory requirements.
Plan and consolidate LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments to maximize container space and profitability.
Track vessel schedules, transit times, and equipment availability; resolve issues with rolled cargo or delays.
Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas agents regarding import/export handling instructions and problem resolution.
Approve vendor invoices, ensure accurate job costing, and oversee the timely invoicing of customers to maintain cash flow.
Manage claims for lost or damaged cargo and negotiate settlements for detention and demurrage charges.
Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures to improve team efficiency and reduce errors.
Assist in negotiating spot rates and space allocations with shipping lines during peak periods.
